Signs of Late Summer 1

In the evening the sun returned after the first rainy day in two weeks. Hooray, quick, out for a walk.
We grabbed our things, including two plastic bags, just in case we found something to pick. Our walk was decided by where the sun was still shining and took us past this field of barley, shining really brightly in the evening sun. (JanHar's blip was taken about 500 meters before mine on the same lane.)
Shortly after this we found raspberry bushes weighed down by really fat berries and we stopped and picked for the next hour. Then home to freeze our harvest in suitabley portion sized small containers ready for winter and some  vitamin laden breakfasts.
Both the ripening barley and the raspberries are signs of late summer. Every day there are more and more brown leaves on the trees, perhaps a subject for another blip...
