A slow start this morning. One away at a Dr's appointment,one slept in !
Spent a fair chunk of time either on the phone or the computer. Tagged some  more calves, then spent the rest of the day hauling straw. Just thinking how things have changed. When I left school way back in 1982, I spent the summer hauling hay and straw with a 2wd ,65 HP Ford. The trailers were old 15ft converted lorry bodies ,with no brakes,indicators that sometimes worked ,and no air con in the cab !  And the load was secured with ropes. Now hauling with 130 HP tractor, 30ft trailer with brakes, lights,flashing beacons,and the man that invented ratchet straps deserves a medal. The youth of today wouldn't know how to tie a kinch  in a rope !
Farmers are moaning gits ,aren't they !
