Off roading

Another really excellent day!!! We got up and did some sorting & tidying as today there is he first viewing on or current house. We then went for a swim. She starts back at swimming lessons tomorrow after a bit of a break so I wanted her to feel really comfortable back at it. We had a brilliant time, some great swimming and a huge improvement in her diving!

We then packed up a picnic and set off for dalby forest. We enjoyed lunch in the sunshine and she had a play in the big park. The afternoon fun then began! We had taken her new bike with us for her first big off road ride. We hired bikes for our friend and I & all headed off. We followed a beginner level track and she was loving it. We then got to their training tracks and she went round their "small but difficult" course. She was very quickly hurling herself over mounds, rocks, bumps. She was getting air, she was standing, she was riding it brilliantly and had a massive grin the whole time! We then rode on to a wildlife hide but there was no visible wildlife thanks to a noisy woodcutter nearby. She was disgruntled when it was time to take back the hire bikes. A definite new activity to add to the "things we love to do" list.

Just outside of the forest is Thornton le Dale. Here, there is a very fabulous ice cream shop. We stopped for a treat double cornet, which she thoroughly loved. Then promptly fell asleep by 5pm and slept until 6 the next morning.
