Painted Lady

Elford Hall Gardens are getting ready for this weekend's Scarecrow Festival.  Volunteers were tidying.  Scarecrow makers were taking a break.

Meanwhile, the butterflies were making the most of the sunny spell - brimstones, commas, small tortoiseshells, red admirals, large whites, small whites, speckled woods - and the queen of them all, The Painted Lady.
