Pisac ( more Inca ruins)

After 3 days in Cusco we decided to venture out of town to check out some Inca ruins. Pisac is an hour from Cusco, which we navigated ourselves to on local buses :) we are getting quite good at it now haha. These ruins were discovered in 1530s by the Spanish but were inhabited by the Incas for 400 years prior to that. 60% of this sight is still in its original state and in perfect condition. The more history we learn about the Incas the more we understand how smart these people were. The terrace steps you see in the picture were used for framing corn and potatoes. The way they landscaped them, with 3 layers of earth, sand and gravel have preserved the sight over all these years. We had a local guide who was fantastic as he grew up in the local village. Once the tour finished we walked 1 hour down the hill back to town and enjoyed our peanut butter roll for lunch (courtesy of the free breakfast in our hostel). That afternoon we enjoyed a craft beer overlooking Plaza del Arms with our German friend Luisa.
