Carlisle Cathedral

Friday 28th August 2015 (1098)

No rush this morning. We were in the centre of Carlisle with free parking at the hotel until 12noon so we walked through the market to the Cathedral and enjoyed some time there.

We then drove North across the border to the banks of Loch Lomond to check out the venue for the swim tomorrow (see extra photo). A lovely setting but the course looks daunting. We set off on the right of this photo alongside the steamer, out into the Loch and then back down the left side of the pic. No nice straight walls of a quay to keep you on track. There was a lot of activity as they were setting up the start and finish areas etc.

After a little wander around the shops and a bit of retail therapy we drove the length of Loch Lomond and then across to Arrochar to our hotel on the bank of Loch Long. It would be a lovely view from the front of the hotel but the mist has come down low and it is pouring with rain! There is a restaurant in the hotel so we can have a relaxing evening.
