If You Go Up in the Woods Today...

Don't look now, but there's another of those spooky "Witches' Eggs" starting to show through the forest floor...

I went for a stroll there this afternoon hoping to see what progress the one I found there on Tuesday had made - but despite an exhaustive search, was unable to find any trace of that one. (This was partly because the other fungi I had used as 'landmarks' back then had all disappeared too. A badger had obviously been active in this part of the wood over the past 24 hours or so, and I wondered if he or she had found them pretty tasty and had gone on to scoff the lot.)

Anyway, I left some (hopefully) more permanent points of reference behind me today, so hopefully I'll be able to keep you all updated on the progress of this fine specimen...
