Blueberries, Masses of Blueberries!
At the risk of being boring the berry saga continues.  This morning we picked raspberries for breakfast.  I'm sure spending two hours picking your breakfast before you eat it is better for you than sitting down with a bowl of cornflakes! We feel very fortunate to live where we do, to be having this amazing berry season, and to have time to enjoy it all.  One of the joys of working a little less than I used to.
We went out this evening and picked 9 liters of blueberries in two hours.
Picking with our pickers means the berries need cleaning afterwards as there are a lot of leaves, twigs, and assorted forest mixed in.  It took me around 2 hours to clean up the berries by which time we had 8 litres to save for the winter.
Today we were checking internet for things to do with blueberries besides freezing them for later or making blueberry pie.  Blueberry leather looked interesting, as did the idea of just drying them. Then there’s blueberry gin…

Maybe pick the blackcurrants tomorrow - they don't need cleaning!
