Young Buck

Last late Summer and Fall there were a couple of young bucks and does that often came by the house together - each of the bucks with just one point antlers on their heads. I presume they were fawns in the Summer of 2013, still hanging out together a year later. Deer have been rather scarce close to the house all this Summer, but I've seen more of them in the past few days and was delighted when a foursome - two does, two bucks, appeared on the hill next to the house this morning. Looks like my youngsters from last year are back, and the boys have new velvet covered antlers!
