If Magpies could be employed as doormen at nightclubs or pubs, i'd give these two a very glowing reference...............

I don't know if large is any better.........

They currently control the number of feral pigeons we have visiting the back garden very efficiently indeed. I'm not sure where they're nesting or roosting, but it must be somewhere very close. They're constantly somewhere in the garden, the smaller birds are a little cautious of them, but the squirrel, woodpigeon and blackbird aren't fussed at all. Which in my books is a result.

If you're wondering what they're taking from the white bowl, it's a mixture of mealworms and maggots. When the Magpies aren't helping themselves, in go the blackbird, robins and the starlings, needless to say 6 pints of maggots a week from the local fishing tackle shop don't last long.
