Closed for business
This building, on the original A1 between London and Hatfield, was a pub which closed around a year ago, presumably because of falling business. A big contrast, I imagine, to when it first opened in the mid 17th Century, when it was probably very busy servicing coach traffic travelling along the Great North Road.
The building was extended and modified in each subsequent century, but now lies shuttered and empty. I have not heard what plans there may be for developing this site, but the building itself is Grade II listed, so presumably cannot be demolished. I reckon it will need some significant refurbishment, though.
