Skidby Mill in early morning sunshine.
And a fine crop of wheat that will find it's way though the mill very shortly.
This mill is the last still actually working in England north of the Humber.
Weather permitting it still grinds a wholemeal flour from Wednesday to Sunday every week.
It had been abandoned for four years before the County Council bought it for the princely sum of £1, (Yes! a single pound) in 1968 and restored it to working condition.
It gets lots of visitors including many School Parties, who are amazed at how complex and advanced the Mill and the workshops that are driven by a drive link to it, really are, as many operations are automated, and all that without using Electricity.
They come away with a different point of view of the people of the past that they had assumed were not so capable as we are today.
