We've long been promising ourselves a camping trip this summer but haven't got around to purchasing a tent big enough for the three of us. So instead today we did a spot of 'day camping'. We packed our trusty two-man tent, BBQ and other associated equipment, food and amusements and took ourselves to a favourite spot on the east shore of Coniston. Unexpectedly we had it all to ourselves. A day of BBQ corn, sausages, toasted marshmallows, origami boat racing, jam jar fishing, tree climbing, Shield Beetle petting, paddling, moat building, heather hill scrambling and tent lounging.
