Red Admiral
This is a Red Admiral Butterfly, on Wild Clematis (Clematis virginiana). I can safely say that I've seen more Red Admirals this Summer than I've ever seen before. Which is not to say that I've seen swarms of them, just that I've seen maybe a dozen. Since I've been paying attention and taking photos - probably since the Summer of 2012) I've been lucky to see maybe one or two in a Summer. Anyway - this one fluttered over this morning and had a sip of the Clematis. The Clematis is a wild version that climbs all over everything if we let it, which I often do. Very pretty they both are.
