St John the Evangelist, Leeston
On my way back from Christchurch today, Mrs H and I took the back road out through Leeston to have a break from the main highway.
I noticed as we drove through Leeston that the light on St John the Evangelist was looking particularly suited to a monochrome image (using my hazy mental Adams and Arch zone system calculator), so I parked up and took this photo from the gate.
As you can see the church is somewhat damaged; it's still not in use following the September 2010 Earthquake, which caused structural damage to its brickwork exterior, as well as topping the spire, which still lays forlornly outside the main door.
