Magpie

Remember that kids' programme that rivalled Blue Peter for a while? This is the very angry magpie that it was impossible to miss outside the uni library as I walked to work this morning. The bird clearly had a nest in the tree above and was doing its best to scare of the black and white cat that was relaxing in the sun underneath. The magpie was apoplectic as it jumped up and down, to and fro and squawked and squawed, trying to run the cat off the territory. The cat couldn't care less. He was enjoying the sunshine, wasn't it good of me to bring it back from Majorca with me? There was no resolution to cat v magpie when I had to get going.
I'd already railed at #3 son for not getting up for an appointment, been to the nurse myself and walked to work, in the sun!
Rest of the day was catching up, answering queries, filling in forms and then home to chicken casserole, cooked by #3 son, yum.
