Crazy Train
Everyone was up and about ridiculously early. We all pitched in to cook a huge fry up then got ourselves ready for a day in Sherringham. The steam train passes through the bottom of the camp site which was a lovely way to travel and a treat for the children (and another box ticked for me). The train and station were full of colourful characters; a photographers dream! This wonderful gentleman kindly obliged when I asked him for a photo.
We had booked a table at The Crown in Sherringham which is on the sea front so we sat outside and had a drink while the children messed about on the beach. I let the girls take my camera and they came back with some fantastic shots.
After lunch, we took the children to the arcades then walked back up to catch the train back. This time we were seated in carriages. The children felt like they really were on the Hogwarts Express.
By this time it had started raining quite heavily. The children decided to go for a swim back at the campsite so the rest of us set up camp in the pub, playing cards and The Rizla game until it felt like we should brave the weather and get back to our tents. With the children in bed, the men were soon to follow, leaving us ladies (and D) round the fire for a little while before we all called it a night.
