Wet bank holiday
We decided to head into town as the weather was wet- no surprises there. Got up and out early. Breakfast in Rackhams. Gloves purchased from pound land as it was sooo cold.
Went to the Back To Backs to book a tour then off to the museum and art gallery to see the William Morris and Andy Warhol exhibition. Interesting stuff. Didn't know Andy had been shot by a woman in SCUM....something about cutting up men?!?! Good grief!
Went to the Edwardian tea room for tea and cake....it was discounted after all! ;-) I like the room and the different light fittings.
On to the back to backs. We were struck by the sheer dirtiness of the streets and the amount of rubbish everywhere. For all that NYC is busy, they have a handle on their litter.
Did the tour with a man called John- what a different life we lead today. The cleanliness, coldness and cramped style must have been challenging.
Came home for a brew and to check in with mum and dad who have just got back from the Emerald Isle.
Out again to dinner and a movie at The Red Carpet Cinema. It was lovely to sit and natter and then watch The Man from U. N. C. L. E. which was surprisingly funny.
I have had a truly lovely day.
Lovely, lovely, lovely.
