Karangahake Gorge
After the rain
A lazy day watching the rain, sending emails - there is a good wifi here - and drinking tea. This morning John snapped the gorge from the veranda, this was to be the blip. However just after 5.00 this evening the rain stopped and a bright sky appeared in the east and off for a walk to the gorge, about 10 minutes, it was terrific. Lots of people drove into the car park snapped a few shots and off again.
The scenery is beautiful even with the rain on the hills. I will try to post a second blip.
From the Internet:
Situated at the base of the Coromandel Range, the Karangahake Gorge Historic Walkway follows the old railway line between Paeroa and Waihi, giving access to impressive remains from the mining and railway era
