The end ....

... Of the Edinburgh Festival is now marked - indeed is now a tradition - by the Fireworks, currently sponsored by Virgin.

It is a 35+ minute display supported by love classical music, this year involving Strauss and Dvorak.

The light wind meant that many fireworks were in a cloud of smoke which in turn became lit up by other fireworks. All very dramatic.

Our son and I got up on to the roof of the house with chairs and a radio to listen to the broadcast music.

A great display. I will now stop fireworks photos, though may make an exception for Bonfire Night and Hogmanay!!
