Changing of the Guard
At Alexander Gardens or Alexandrovsky Sad. See how well my Russian is coming along?!
The Guards stand for an hour at a time either side of a marble monument, of a helmet next to a flame - the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It was erected in honour of those killed in WWII. This is the changing of the Guard at 4pm today. I was freezing cold just watching them.
Still no snow but SUCH a sunny day - got lots of blue-sky shots which I'll link to the blog tomorrow. Off out for a Ruby now. Mmmm! Oh and go back a day if you want to see another cityscape shot in colour!
