Memories
I'm getting ready to pack up these tiny sweaters for safekeeping. They were hand-knit by my mother for my daughters 30 odd years ago, and we recently found them in our storage area. They had some stains, but fortunately I was able to get those out. They still bring a smile to my face and I remember each of the girls wearing these and knowing how special they were. My mother's fingers became too crippled with arthritis in her later years, but she still had the skill when these were made. She made pajamas, and robes, and so many special things. The girls were blessed with two creative grandmas who doted on them, and I was blessed to have them both in my life.
“Sweater, n. Garment worn by child when its mother is feeling chilly.”
― Ambrose Bierce, The Unabridged Devil's Dictionary
