Losing Face

Years ago I found this black madonna at a garage sale! Can you believe anyone would sell her away? She's been out in the garden through many seasons, fading a bit, but still keeping everything going. But today this is what I found--a shattered icon, lost forever. There is no way to glue the pieces back together, just the slightest touch crumbles them even more. My guess is a squirrel jumped on her and it was just too much weight. A sad day in the garden.
