Ceilings

We watched His Kind of Woman the other night, "an oddball tongue-in-cheek crime thriller," starring Jane Russell and Robert Mitchum. It was indeed an odd mix of slapstick comedy and noir tension.  And then we watched it again with the commentary because we knew the speaker from our days on campus. One of her wonderful observations was that you could tell when the film shifted to its noir identity because the scenes were all shot low enough to include the ceilings.
