2015 Friday -- date Night
Our afternoon started at the office of our property manager. She is a terrific business woman and a very caring person. Over the years we've had several different property managers or management companies take care of our properties, but hands down she is the best.
We left her office and then headed to Home Depot, Best Buy, and Lowes to look for the best deal on a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a stove. This weekend is the big Labor Day sale and we'll need those appliances as the remodel on our Central Coast home comes to an end -- (and yes, the remodel is just now beginning). We're learning that "panel ready" appliances are a bit more expensive than standard models. We're learning a lot, actually. And yes I'm probably going to need to work till I am 100 to pay off the debt. I'm thankful that I get a sizable amount of time off in summer and again in winter.
After doing all the looky-lou at the stores, we transformed the day into a date night. Dinner at the Twisted Gourmet was delicious. Our waitress seemed to "get it" when we explained that we are vegan and do not eat dairy (cheese, milk, eggs, nor meat). So she was quick to understand that we did not want parmesan cheese sprinkled on our salad nor our pasta. The pasta entree was suppose to have butter in the sauce and our server made sure the chef eliminated the butter. We enjoyed a delicious dinner.
So this was the first week of the fall semester at the ollege where I teach and I was summoned to be on call all week for jury duty and thankfully as I phoned-in each evening, I learned that the next day I did not need to report to the court room -- woohoo!
Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
