At last rain!
It has been far too long and so today's rain was very gratefully received. It did clear up as the day went on - which was good as Charlotte A's mother and brother arrived at Nimes in the afternoon. A visit to Leroy Merlin and we ended up with a set of stairs on the roof.
Unfortunately at precisely the same time, the car decided to start its annual French playing up and the steering went peculiar - turning right required significant muscle.
The first mechanic looked, said it was the pump and he could do nothing. We bravely went on to the airport, made the pick-up and then drove gingerly along the motorway and to the Ford garage in Nimes.
A cheerful chappie here looked at it and said he 'd bring the car back in ten minutes. Initial fears that he had stolen the car were removed when when did return - but it was not fixed. A new cremailere is called for - not that I really know what that is in English. Besides expensive.
Not the work of a moment and so we decided to take the car on home. Exciting times on some of the right hand hair pins but we got there.
