Church, Old Town, Alonnisos
I don't think I have mentioned how hot it is here in Greece. It's usually beginning to cool down in September but it's been up to 33C today and not much cooler at night. It's been unusually wet until July and then very hot.
Anyway we walked along an old donkey track to reach the old town (Hora) which is located high in the mountains. It was vacated many years ago when there was an earthquake but new buildings have now replaced a lot of the old demolished ones.
We recovered over a long lunch and then ventured further into the village where this church was seen. There are some wonderful views here of the sea on both sides of the island.
