We bought in two new cows and calves this morning.  Waiting at the gate to welcome them into the herd was cow no. 241.  Or perhaps 241 was warning the two cows that they were about to have their babies taken away from them.  Who knows.

The weather has been very unsettled today.  It poured with rain during milking this morning, and with this rain was the cold wind due to snow falling on the hills around the farm.  The sun came out, then it would rain, and so on.  I think we will be in for a frost tonight - we have covered our lemon trees in anticipation.
