Golden Sunrise.
My tomatoes are very slow in ripening this year. It would appear I am not alone as Monty Don was complaining of the same thing on TV this morning.
This is Golden Sunrise a variety I haven't tried before. It is a "heritage variety" which the TV chefs seem to find very attractive going by some programs. The "blurb" claims it to be an early cropper starting to crop eight weeks after planting. Well mine have obviously not read the blurb as these are well over eight weeks and the first to start to ripen.
The problem is how do you know when they are ripe if you have never seen one before. With normal tomatoes you have seen a ripe red one and can judge their ripeness.
