All puggled!
Another corker in the weather department! I think three days in a row counts as an 'Indian Summer'...
Bailey's mum came to collect us to go up the Hill, but it was such a nice day we went to Holyrood Park instead, parked by Dunsapie Loch and climbed Haggis Knowe, the site of my rock climbing misadventure a while ago. But J knew the proper route up. What a view! All that was missing was the picnic...
From there we walked part way up the easy ascent of Arthur's Seat. Even the dogs were puffing, but J was ready for an ascent to the top. Instead, she produced a couple of healthy oaty bars. Perfect. We could see the two chimneys from yesterday, and in fact, it would be a good vantage point to witness their end.
We popped into the Salisbury Arms, a dog friendly pub with a beer garden. We had a very good sharing platter of hummus, pita bread and other tasty goodies. Of course, the two dogs announced our arrival by barking excitedly as we approached the beer garden.
They were quiet while we ate our snack, but when J and Bailey went in to pay (I didn't think I needed any money up the Hill) Archie yelped hysterically. He does NOT like Bailey leaving him at all. We had to troop into the pub after them, apologising to all the punters as we went. There they played happily while J paid. What a pair.
Archie and I had a snooze when we came home. Then JR and I had sit out in the back garden with a G&T, until the screeching children on the trampoline over the wall got too much for us the sun moved behind a tree.
We have booked one more Dog Sitter (the Tibetan Terrier) on Wednesday, to decide who to use as our regular Sitter, but I think we have the perfect solution for our upcoming holiday without Archie in October!!
We were relaxing on the grass up Arthur's Seat, when three huge dogs silently came amongst us, plodding up the hill with their owners. I felt quite sorry for them, as they (the dogs) (and one of the owners) did look puggled. They ignored A & B and went on their weary way. They may still be plodding up...
