If I look a little scared here, it's because I totally am.  This spot didn't necessarily scare me, but standing here and looking up at my son hanging his arms over the edge of the lookout, cheering me on, sent a crazy kind of fear through my body.  All in all, an awesome day as we took Alex on his first Mt. Pilchuck hike.  It is a steep, but incredibly rewarding hike with an old fire lookout perched at the top of 5, 324ft. Isaac and I have chosen this hike a few times as a "date hike" but we are now excited that Alex has proven he can tag a long.
