Great- Day-Out

Take-one-Picture
Birgit met me at Liverpool Station & we spent some time with the Kindertransport Memorial on the station. It's a special place for her, being German. Thousands of Jewish children arrived at this station with number tags round their necks. Many never saw parents again. We were both touched that flowers had been placed on the children.

Then to the 12 bus & via The Bank of England, St Pauls, Fleet Street to Trafalgar Square. I wanted to see the 'Take on Picture' project that engaged hundreds of schools in responding to one picture in the gallery. This year is Bermejo's St Micheal Triumphs over the Devil. The display of creative responses is wonderful, though industrial action closed room 63 for the day, so the painting evaded us. Instead , having tramped through to the Sainsbury Wing , we enjoyed the Wilton Diptych : such magic blues !.
Then lunch in the ever reliable Crypt Cafe under St Martins, a lie down in St James Park, then back to the 12 bus & home by 6pm. Perfect.
