Attacking the to do list: reformat the old iMac & reinstall OS X. I used to be quite a fan of Apple's products but sadly not anymore: the annoyances outweigh the benefits. For example: why do I have to give apple a credit card to download free apps for the iPad? Why am I constantly prompted to log into the cloud or the app store? Even better, you can find yourself with an unusable iPad when the system decides you really needs you to log in and so constantly bombards you with prompts. As for discoverability of functionality... long gone.
