Beautiful Demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo)

We saw lots of these damselflies in Waterworks Valley today, an another perfect day for insects. In fact we also saw at least three Short-toed Tree-creepers rocketing up oak trees in search of food, I've added a shot of one to extras. The light wasn't good so I've processed it heavily so you can actually see the bird amongst the leaves.

We haven't been to the valley for a long time, so it really felt like a holiday walk, plus seeing all the insects and birds made in even more special.

Tomorrow afternoon is the Jersey International Air Display so I'm hoping to get some good shots of aircraft.
