Simplicity

Looking back at this and other photos from September 3, our second full day in Missouri, I remember with a smile how much we enjoyed the ever-changing colors and light in the Grand Hall at our hotel, the St. Louis Union Station -- A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

That name is hardly simple, nor is the image, showing a portion of the hall (more here), but we traveled with only a carry-on suitcase and a "personal item" each. Now that we've been home for a couple of days, I'm missing the simplicity of having very limited wardrobe choices and not needing to plan/shop for/prepare/clean up after our daily meals.

I'd done quite a bit of sorting out here before we went on vacation, but now I'm wanting to dig still deeper, although perhaps not quite as far as Henry David Thoreau suggested: Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity! I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumb nail.
