The special scales

These scales were in my dad's grocers shop for as long as I can remember along with his coffee machine, meat slicer and various other contraptions. When he sold the shop - I suppose now you would call it a deli, in fact it was a proper grocers and he was trained as a master grocer- he sold the various other things to local shops. The scales however, went with my mum and dad and now have a special place in the kitchen.
It's a strange family heirloom I guess but that's exactly what I think of them as.
