Adriennnnnnnne!
This morning was a little chaotic; some people were leaving the tour in Washington, some in New York and some were continuing on the coach to the Deep South.
Although we are tired, we wish we had booked the Southern explorer trip too, which would be another 9 days on the coach. We are thinking we may do that next year and add a few days on the end to chill out in Miami.
There was some confusion over who was doing what, so we ended up being scattered over several coaches.
Our guide for the day was a 70 year old lady called Ruth; eccentric doesn't come close!
We stopped in Philadelphia for lunch and were left to our own devices as far as sightseeing was concerned.
We saw the Liberty Bell and the Independance Hall, then jumped in a cab to the Philadelphia Museum of Arts; more commonly known as the Rocky Steps!
Of course we ran up the steps; we have video evidence of this though Mr A was far more graceful than me....I had to try and keep the twins under control as I bounced up the steps! should anyone doubt our honesty.
After all that exertion, Mr A had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich (I had a bite of it), we both had an ice cream, then it was time to get back on the bus.
I checked my pedometer yesterday (it's an app on my phone that works as long as it senses movement), we've been averaging 15,000 steps a day but yesterday managed 22,000! We've certainly covered some miles.
Traffic was kind today so we reached New York in good time, which gave us more time for exploring.
Hopefully, we can navigate the metro this time (we've had a bit of practice now) and get to the Brooklyn bridge, since we didn't manage it on our first night.
Last day tomorrow :-(
Apologies to anyone who now has the Rocky theme tune stuck in their head!
