Lucca

Lucca's Renaissance walls are 12m high and so thick there's a continuous park along the full 4km length - which we walked of course. Other highlights: a Tuscan lunch, followed by gelato whilst wandering the medieval but very smart streets; the cathedral with its Tintoretto Last Supper and Nicodemus Christ sculpture; lots of churches, towers, palazzi and gardens.

As if that wasn't enough, we stopped in at San Miniato on the way home to ogle the belvedere and more palazzi. Back to rustic reality on the farm now!
