Certaldo

We visited the home of Medieval comic writer Boccaccio today: For some reason it's slightly off the tourist trail, which means it's beautifully unspoilt and has amazing restaurants. Our lunch was to die for, and was accompanied by a huge thunderstorm - providing a dramatic soundtrack to our gorgeous food. It was brilliant. There was even a funicular railway to save us from slipping down the incredibly steep track to the main town after lunch!
