Three things to say ......

* The meeting I had attended at the Town Hall started earlier and finished earlier than usual. The chair is going to the big game at the Etihad this evening.

* outside the Manchester Food and Drink festival is still in full swing - and sunshine is the order of the day today.

* the Rugby World Cup is advertised with a banner on the Town Hall facade. A colleague was telling me that a colleague of hers is going to the England game at the Etihad. £250 a ticket, so £500 for two seats ! Astonishing.
