Photos taken from the other side had an electricity pole sticking out above the horses head or back!

Day 3 of the holiday saw us feeling more adventurous. We set out on an 8 mile walk from the campsite which followed the line of a former railway for part of the northbound section (not as easy as it sounds) and the Pennine Way for much of the route south. 

At one point I got my compass out as the footpath seemed to be heading in the wrong direction. We decided by the bootprints that hundreds of walkers couldn’t be wrong and followed it though are still not sure if it would have been better to take the direct line shown on the map.

A friendly horse and lots of curious sheep today plus some fabulous heather, so I’ve put some photos in extras.
