Williamsburg

If you've ever seen the film 'The Truman Show' you'll know the script. A guy basically lives out his life, unbeknown to him, in front of cameras and actors. His life is a TV show - he just doesn't know it. Williamsburg, Virginia, is very much like that - just that we did know it. I think. A colonial town - that England discovered back in 1607 (see America does have some history - ish) - with beautiful colonial houses and pathways that have been kept in the exact same fashion as back them. It seemed as if the entire town of Williamsburg is employed as actors that look after shops, play out courtroom dramas from long ago and debate whether England should rule over the country or not. The role play was superb as you'd be walking along and a guy dressed up in colonial outfits would ask you if you'd seen the Governor who was willing to fight against British rule.

A lot of fun and very well done finished off with a horse and cart tour.

Then it was onto Jamestown and the early settlement. A fascinating couple of towns and yet again the picture doesn't really do it justice and I have many I perhaps should have chosen

A drive to the the ocean tomorrow and Chincoteague for our last three days
