Grebe Nose dive

Love the elegant way these birds enter the water.  Told that their feet are not webbed like a ducks but have three lobes. Also told their latin name means bum legs i.e. their legs are set near their rear that they can not really walk.  Been 35 chicks hatched in the last year with the aid of our wonderful bird man who has made these floating landing pads for their nests.  (As  the lake goes up and down too much)

Hope you liked my Buff Weka  I used to think it was a Bluff Weka.
