Renovating the Bridge
Actually I think “Rebuilding the Bridge” might be a better title judging by how extensive the work is!
This is no simple bridge because it has to open to let boats through in the summer.  It’s been renovated again and again but finally the time has come for intensive work!Traditionally the north and south sounds combined to form a seaway and I guess that when the first bridges were put in place agreements were made about keeping the seaway open.  Hence two bridges that open to let the sailing boats through.
If all goes well the bridge will be in place and finished in time for the 2016 sailing season.
