This isn't the tree we felled on Tuesday, it's another that had been left as a 30ft stump (for no readily apparent reason).  It's been crying out for carving, so we thought we'd spend some money on something attractive rather than functional, for a change.

This is what the scaffolders were here for on Tuesday.

In other news, the decorators moved into the bedroom today and it's looking much better already. Also, the preparations for the base for the replacement pillar have started.  All coming together at last.

Meanwhile, having shredded a ton (literally) of conifer on Tuesday, the garden is full of the smell of air freshener.
