Hawks and Haybales
We went out for a bit this afternoon to run errands....just Husband, Murphy, and me.
It is so hot out, there are warnings about the heat index. The thermometer said 90 degrees, but with the humidity factored in, it feels like over 100 degrees. No matter....it is just miserably hot. Far too hot!
On the way back from Canandaigua, we passed a field where it looks like the farmer has just recently cut and baled hay. As we passed by, I asked Husband what was on top of the bales? Hmmm.....he hadn't noticed. So, he stopped.
I got out of the car and walked down the road until I came upon my subject for the day. A large hawk perched on top of a bale. I suppose he was waiting for a field mouse to appear.
This isn't a very good photo, but you can see the hawk as well as the humidity lingering in the air.
This heatwave will continue a few days if weather predictions are accurate. I pray they are not!
