We remember that in 1982 it was precisely this daily manoeuvre, as the Queen's Life Guard move from Knightsbridge to Horse Guards' Parade to Change the Guard for the next 24 hours, that was attacked by the IRA with a car bomb. Four soldiers of the Blues and Royals died along with seven of their horses. Another bomb nearby claimed the lives of seven more soldiers.
