Bike Orienteering in Swaledale

An early start this morning to travel to Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. We were taking part in the OMM (The Original Mountain Marathon) an adventure race for both runners and cyclists. The weather was fantastic and the views on the top stunning. Rather a lot of uphill although slightly compensated by the downhill. We climbed over 800 metres and managed a top speed of 35mph.

Before we set off I took a few photographs of competitors. Although we had maps with the controls on we did not know which we would visit until we started. This couple were noting down the controls and deciding which they could visit in the time.

Home and then back tomorrow to do it all over again!
