A brief blue sky...

All the weather forecasts today seemed quite excited by the high pressure and promised glorious sunshine. Yes, it was sunny ,but only until about 2pm. Sure enough,as soon as I went away to bale it clouded over and looked threatening.
Wee brother made a start cutting some of our oats,and by 11pm last night I had managed to knock out another 100 acres of straw. Some of the wheat straw wasn't brilliant,but it has lain for over a week getting wet,damp ,dryer and wetter.And their combine was out cutting again,so there are another 3 fields lying in front of me, again.
Seemingly for normal people this is the September holiday weekend.The highlight of my day was watching the trains going over the newly opened Lothian Bridge viaduct from the seat of the tractor !
