This building was built 1906/07 as the main office of the Glasgow Shipping company "The Anchor Line" which ran ships from Britain to America and India from the 1850s
Owning Clyde shipyards and running ships from the Clyde docks thousands of Clydesiders depended on the company for their livlihoods
The opulent interiors have been tastefully refurbished and the restaurant/bar on the ground floor has its walls adorned with many artefacts posters photos and other memories of the Anchor Line
